Crazy as a bedbug

Doing the Big Chill 5-9 this evening. It seems to have slowed down a little in the Keys, a lull before mini-idiot season next week. People go to a lot of trouble and my god the expense just for something you can get at the fish market for a lot better price than catching them yourself though some people find it a fun recreational outlet. I was still recovering from the effects of the All-American diet this time last year so I don't recall lobster season or if covid fucked that all up as well. In years past, people have died in the pursuit of what some folks find a delicious meal. I myself can't get past the whole cockroach of the sea thing. Every year there are those that make multiple trips a day taking the max daily allowed every time, the FWC can't even begin to keep up and every year they bust a handful for everything from over the limit, undersized and what not.

The lobster people tend to be poor tippers and while families make the resorts money they are notoriously bad tippers, just ask our servers and bartenders , the service was great, we'll leave 5 stars on yelp, here's $3 on a $80 check. We'll see if things will be different this year. Some businesses down here have really been able to bounce back but for a musician it's still tight. A lot of the restaurants quit having music during covid and haven't felt the need to bring it back. But that's okay, it's fucking hot and I ain't a spring chicken anymore so I just do the best I can with what I got left of my time on this ridiculous planet. Peace and Love!
