"Old Habits"
Artist: Hank Williams, Jr.
Released: 1980

"Producer Notes" Undoubtedly, one of LSG and my "favorite" of Hank Jr. songs.

The original steel guitar work by "Cowboy" Eddie Long & Weldon Myrick on those "early" Hank Jr. albums defines some of the last definitive "Honky Tonk" sounds found in Classic Country music that also started to "blend" with a "modern approach" of electric guitar fills as performed by guitar great, Reggie Young.

This version pays "tribute" to "that style & sound" with this "extended version"...by adding a "Solo" that does not appear on the original.

"OLD HABITS"...by LSG

One of my dads favorites when we would pick and grin, this is the first song that I discovered that I had a country singing voice that people liked. Also it appeals to my "bluesy" nature.

For some reason I'm one of those people who enjoy a good heartache song. Being young and discovering love and relationships can be more traumatic for some people I reckon. Puberty is tough, all these new feelings and desires and the head games it plays- that's why teenagers are bat shit crazy.

If you've ever raised a baby squirrel or raccoon you've experienced that change from cute little fur baby to WILD beast...often funny but not fun for anyone.

I had many "crushes" but was always too shy to pursue them and thus every time a girl I had the hots for got a boyfriend it was time to break out the heartache songs.  LSG
